Reed joined the Boys and Girls Club basketball league this year, and it was fantastic! We are surely going to miss the BGC of La Crosse when we move. They have great programs for the kids. Reed's league was a 3rd and 4th grade league, and his team was primarily 3rd graders. At the end of the season he was asked to be on an all-star team that played in a tournament against 5th graders. It was a great experience for him. His team only practiced together 3 times before playing in the tournament and his team did great! On Saturday, they won the first game, lost the second game (Reed fouled out w/ 3:15 left in the game). That placed them in third for the final round on Sunday. Sunday morning Reed's team had to play the #1 team at the tournament of all 5th graders. YIKES! They were a great team and had been playing together all year. We told Reed before the game if they lost by at least 20 they could consider it a victory. At one point they were down by 20, but the ended up only losing by 8! We were so proud of him and his team for not giving up and playing their hardest!
It was a great season and Drew and Brett were troopers for sitting at the gym for 2 hrs each Saturday.
