First day of school 10-11

Reed started 4th grade this year at Grant Elementary. Reed was lucky to have met some kids that will be going to his school at baseball, football and our neighbor. But, unfortunately none of them are in his class. We just kept telling him to be himself and don't be shy and he will meet friends right away.  Well, he did!  He met three friends the first day and remembered their names!  Reed is a little bummed, because his teacher is expecting twins in October, so that means she will not be around for the whole year.
Reed loves being able to walk to school by himself.

Drew started 4k this year at Bright Horizons.  He had done two years of preschool while we were in La Crosse and absolutely loved it!  He as well was a little nervous about school, because he didn't no anyone at his school. He kept telling us he wanted to go back to La Crosse so he could go to his old school where all his friends are.  But, of course we told him that wasn't an option and once he started school he would like it here as well.
Boy were we right!  When I picked him up from school, on our walk home I asked Drew if he liked his school?  He looked at me and said, "I LOVE my new school!" That was so great to hear. He as well had met a friend at school and remembered his name.
Now, every morning he can't wait until 11:15 when we get to leave for school.  This year he is going in the afternoon which is going to be an adjustment, because he still takes naps about 3x a week.  I am hoping he will get used to it, but so far the first day of school he put himself to bed at 6:30!  He then slept for 12 hours. I am hoping we can catch up on sleep on the weekends and on Mondays when he doesn't have school.

Drew wanted to take a picture with Brett, so everyone would know he was his brother. How sweet!

Drew's Tball to baseball

Drew took tball this summer and he had a blast!  They started out with the T for the first week or so and then they went to coach pitch.  Once they switched over to the coach pitch, Drew never had to use the T. He was so proud.  It was a pretty relaxed group and they never got out and everyone got to go home.  Drew used to always want to hit first, but then realized if he went last he could always have a home run.

Brett was always standing close and watching.  He tried a couple of times to join the team.

Brett wants to play baseball so bad!
After sitting at a ball field 4 nights a week who could blame. He did fantastic!

Sitting last so he can have a home run.

What a wonderful life.....

How spoiled am I?  I was able to spend 3 months with my parents at my house!  My parents are officially retired for the second time. But we all joke and are pretty sure they will both be back working. Not because they need to, but because they love to.
My parents started their journey in La Crosse to help us finish up packing and get ready for the movers to come.  There they stayed in one of the rental places at Gundy housing. Once we moved to Marshfield they were right in the house with us.  The boys LOVED that they could hang out with Baba and Barbie all the time.

This is how we saw Brett the majority of the time. Always with a baseball mit in hand.

Brett and Barbie's favorite reading place.

Lots of reading time!

The boys with my parents while we were in DC. My parents were wonderful to watch the boys so Jay and I could go to DC just a week after we moved to Marshfield.

Watching the fireworks. I think this is one of my favorite pictures from their visit.

Lots of yard work to do!

Picnic in the living room while watching a movie. Lots of rainy days!

The Marshfield school forest.

They even convinced Barbie to get on the trampoline with me.

Brett was exhausted the whole time they were here. He was constantly going and going and going!

One of the kids favorite places to go with Baba and Barbie.

What a great way to spend our first summer in Marshfield.

Drew's favorites things they did:
played games, watched movies, golfing with Baba, and the trampoline with Barbie

Brett's favorites things they did:
showering with Barbie, walks up and down the hill, "morning coffee," watching for trucks on the front porch and singing the "truck song," reading and sharing a room with them

Reed's favorite things they did:
golfing with Baba, puzzles, cooking, trampoline with Barbie, mowing the lawn with Barbie

and many more!

We can't wait to see them again at Christmas!!!
